I have a GIANT!

Yes its true he is a giant! Zion went to the doctor yesterday for his 2 month check up. He is off the charts in height and weight.

Height 24 3/4 inches he was only 21 at birth.
Weight 13pounds 9 oz he was 7pounds 6 oz at birth

So at least he is proportionate. Addison was always on the other end of the spectrum so this is something new for us. She better watch out or baby brother will be catching up with her soon.

other then that there hasn't been too much else going on at the Conder's household. We have just been enjoying the beautiful weather going to the football games and cross country meets it is so nice to be able to enjoy these things again.

For some reason I cant post pictures now so I will get them up soon.

busy at the conders

Wow I have become a slacker on here. Sorry! This week we have been potty training hard core! Monday was a full blown potty party, it went much better then both Adam and I thought it would we got away with only 2 accidents all day. Here it is Friday and we are still going strong. She is starting to go even before the timer goes off. So hopefully next week we will have this potty thing down.

Zion is now over a month old. He is quite a cute and has changed quite a bit. According to our scale he is now 12 lbs. I think he is just bulking up for football season. He trys to be so big and holds his head up already. Wow time is just flying by with my two big kids.

almost 2 weeks

My little man is almost 2 weeks old already. He is such a sweet little guy who loves to cuddle includeing all night. Last night he was up from 1:45-5:15 which makes for one tired mama. Addison is still in love with him, but has had her times of jealousy so we have been working on that. She also does not think that she needs to sleep anymore. She has been refusing naps and fights to go to bed at night. We try to have her in bed by 7:30 or 8:00 she usually gives up her fight at about 11. This is not helping with me being so tired either. Oh well this too shall pass.

Zions Birth Story

We went in Saturday night to begin the induction.

After getting hooked up to the monitors and being checked, I was a 2, I was given cytotec at 7:30pm and was told that it might start labor and that they would be in in a few hours to insert the IV port and unhook me so I could walk around foe a while. At 10:00 the nurse came in and tried putting the IV in. She blew the vain in my left hand but was able to get it on the first try in left. She then told us that the Dr. will be in between 5am-6:30am, which got me pretty excited. At 10:30 they came in and unhooked me for what Adam called my “yard time” like I was in Prison, I had to be back in bed by 11. During that time we walked the halls multiple multiple times I was ready to run or skip or something. At 12:30 I was checked again and was now a 4. I thought this stuff was really working. I was offered a sleeping pill at this time, which I denied because I thought that the dr would be in by 6 and I would just be groggy due to not getting a full 8 hours of sleep.
I ended up being up most of the night. Every time I would finally fall asleep I would a either have to go to the bath room or b. the nurse would come in to roll me to one side or the other because his heart rate would drop way low, under100. I was checked at 4:00 and I was still only a 4. After calling the nurse at least once an hour to go to the bathroom at 4:30 I told myself the dr would be there in about an hour so try to get some sleep. I was able to sleep until 8:00 when the nurse came in and said the dr. had called and said to start the potocin and she would be there soon to break my water.
I was checked right after the potocin and was still only a 4. I guess the cytotec didn’t do too much. I hadn’t felt any contractions yet. By 9:00 I started feeling them but they weren’t too bad. Just like I feel one starting, ok its done I was able to talk through them. I had told my nurse I didn’t want the epidural until I was dilated a 6, she said we would try. By 10:30 I was feeling the contraction pretty good the nurse came in and asked if I wanted the epi now because the anesthesiologist was going home for a bit. I said sure I will take it. By the time he came in the contractions where going hot and heavy, I was shaking uncontrollably which I did not like. As he came in h made my husband leave and told him to get a cup of coffee and come back in 10 minutes, I about freaked, but we both managed to get through it. After the epi was in at 11:15, I stopped shaking and was able to relax, I was checked at this time and was an 8. At 1:00 the nurse came in and checked me I was still an 8, she said the dr. was finally on her way in to break my water. She came in at 1:15 broke my water and said the baby will be here in 1.5 hours to 2 hours. I said he will be here sooner she just smiled. The nurse then came back in at 1:35 to check me and see how I was, at this point she pulled back and said “ don’t laugh, sneeze or cough the dr will be right in.” The dr. and two nurses came in the room at 1:47 as she was putting her gloves on she said lets have a practice push. So I reared back to push, and out he came. She put her gloved hand down to get the head while pulling on her other glove with her mouth. I was then told not to push because the cord was wrapped fairly tightly around is neck. She cut the cord and told me to push again and the next thing I knew I was holding Zion Wesley at 1:53 PM weighing 7lbs 6 oz and 21 inches. I was able to hold him for quite some time before they took him across the room to clean him up and check everything out. He was able to stay in the room with us for about 2 hours before they took him to the nursery. At this time I was able to get up and take a shower. It was a great birth I hope that the next one goes as quickly and smoothly.

Addison has been such a great big sister. She Loves Zion so much and trys her best to be gentel and a great helper. Its hard being 2.

Hospital Picture. The nurse dressed him and Buttoned his shirt all the way up. Looks a little uncomfey to me.

Today has been kind of Bittersweet. I just put Addison to bed for the last time being my only baby. Tomorrow night she will be staying at my parents house while we are being induced so the next time I see her I will be a mama of 2. Why does that make me so sad? Ill add more later if I can. Im sitting her bawling for some reason...
